Are you planning to use ENZO PELLINI tiles soon? With the following TIPS and TRICKS, you can start laying your tiles today!

Allow the leather tiles to acclimatise to the surroundings

Depending on the temperature and humidity, leather can sometimes shrink or expand slightly, just like wood, so give it the time to acclimatise. Allow the opened box to ‘get used’ to the surroundings in which the tiles will ultimately be used, preferably for 24 hours.

Temperature and humidity

Temperature and humidity can affect the leather. The ideal temperature is between 18ºC and 22ºC. The humidity should be between 40% and 60%.

Dark leather on a light background

If you wish to affix the tiles to a light background without having visible seams, paint the background first in the colour of the leather. This reduces the chance of small ‘seams’ showing between the tiles.

Trial pattern

Start by laying a trial pattern of your choice on a flat surface. Please note: do not remove the protective layer. This allows you to easily adjust the pattern to your wishes before affixing the final version to the wall.

Preventing too much visible variation in colour

Before you begin to cover an area larger than 1 m², shuffle all the tiles you plan to use from all the different boxes. This prevents unnecessary variation in colour across a large surface.
